The Vampire’s Lament

The Vampire’s Lament is a 4 minute CGI short which I wrote and directed in collaboration with Giantwheel Animation, an Indian company with offices in London. It is my homage to the Universal studio monster movies of the 1930s. As well as designing the characters and settings I also story boarded and keyed out the animation.

Marvo the Wonder Chicken

Marvo The Wonder Chicken is a 52x 2 minute show I wrote and directed in 2008/9. I designed most of the characters, story boarded, did the layouts and colour styled all the backgrounds. I also animated most of the episodes, either in total or in part. I also drew most of the title cards recreating in style the classic MGM and Disney cards of the 40s and 50s.

The Marvo show comprised 52, two minute episodes. Here are clips from many of the shows plus images of the artwork and character designs. I designed the title cards in the style of the classic Hollywood cartoons of the 1940’s and 1950’s and there is a selection of those cards here too.

Meadowlands aka Shadow Of The Elves

Meadowlands aka Shadow Of The Elves is a show I directed in Germany, Paris and Luxembourg. This is the teaser/trailer for the series.

Helix and Atom

Helix And Atom was a personal project I developed over two years. As well as the first two episodes there are also designs and promotional paintings for the show.

Shhh…

This is a film I animated for the director Fumio Obato who also wrote the piece. I enjoyed having to adapt to Fumio’s very personal design style.

Festival Films Showreel

Festival Films commercials and TV title sequences produced in the mid 1990’s.

Commercials

This is a selection of commercials which I directed, designed and animated at Festival Films.

The Restaurant Show

This clip is for a TV show title sequence which I designed and animated at Festival Films. The idea was to reveal the character shapes in the foreground by using the yellow colour of the background against the black silhouette of the main character. I think it ended up working really well.

Rough Story Board & Animatics

These clips are of the very rough story board plus the animatic I prepared for the computer animators to follow. The final film ended up being remarkably faithful to the animatic.
